Mouse Pad

Mouse pads can be made of a wide variety of materials, depending on the amount of money that you spend, and the ergonomics that you are after. Most pads are made of a rubbery foam material, known as neoprene. Some are made of plastic, which is filled with a sort of gel to provide support for your wrist. A lot of these just have a small tube like piece of jell which sits up for where your wrist would touch the desk. These pads are designed to be comfortable when you rest your hands on, and having a little bit of give through the neoprene is great.

You can get mouse pads that are custom made, with your own photos or photos of your choice. Alternatively, you can get ones with the calendar on them for the current year. Sure, you have to replace these every year but they are very handy to use. A lot of people make their own mouse pads, or buy them online. You can get mouse pads that are made out of glass, which look spectacular when you put little LED's in them. Of course, this can be a lot of work, but it does look very awesome.

I know a few people that have gone and bought cheap non stick frying pans, and cut out a circle in the middle of the pan. This is completely flat, very hard and long lasting and if you smooth the edges they make great pads. Of course, some mouse's don't work very well on the shiny black material, but you can test this out before you buy the pan. I would suggest that you get a pad which is comfortable to use; there is nothing worse than being uncomfortable, especially if you are on a PC for hours at a time.
