Portable Speakers

Portable speakers are designed for convenience. Everyone knows that having to lug a big sub woofer and multiple cases down for a short presentation is an absolute pain, and something we would like to avoid if possible. As a result, these speakers have become very popular. However, there is no point getting a set of if they are not very good quality. You are better off going to the effort of dragging your normal PC set if the sound is poor quality and not very loud. Fortunately, there are a huge number of options on the market which are brilliant in terms of quality of sound, price and looks.

Fortunately there is a massive range when looking at these. You can purchase little speakers which are designed to put out just enough sound for one person to listen to, or you can buy ones which are able to be turned up enough for a whole room of people to hear. In fact, you can even buy portable speaker set ups which are in cases that you open up and the speakers fold out. Most have a little sub woofer to help with the bass, and they usually run off batteries.

A good set of these speakers will have rechargeable batteries in it which you can plug into your computer or 240v plug to charge back up. Most portable speakers also come with USB to hook them up to your computer, and the standard 3.5mm speaker plug for plugging your iPod or phone in. Like anything though, to get a good set of speakers you need to shop around.

Inkjet Cartridges

So, you have decided to do some research for your intended purchase, a new printer, but which one to buy--Inkjet or laser toner cartridge? The good news for you is that due to the power of the Internet, both printer toner cartridges and inkjet supplies have got really competitively priced and there are hundreds or even thousands of places to buy. So what do I buy?

What is your budget for the new printer? Inkjet printers are generally cheaper and it is normally true for inkjet and laser printers that the more you pay for the device, the cheaper the cartridges. To give you some idea of the difference in running costs it can be from over a £1 per page for high ink or toner coverage to less than 1p for low coverage in mono (black and white) pages. Traditionally, this is where the laser printers with their toner cartridges scored in terms of cost per page - much cheaper running costs.

To offer some sort of guidelines on how much to spend though, for business use, I would not recommend paying less than £200. Less than this, you are definitely in the realms of the home use device, which can be slow and very expensive to run. One last thought on running costs, do you know how much your companies printing costs are? Probably not, often the purchase of the device and buying cartridges are done by different people with different budgets! Try and keep it accounted for under one umbrella or at least so you can easily run a cost report. You may be in for a shock!

What is the printer going to be used for? For general office printing, letters, invoices etc. a laser printer running toner cartridges is a better bet. If your usage includes this general office printing plus perhaps brochures, mailshots or product specifications then generally the toner cartridge device will still be the one to go for. However, you should be looking at spending £400 or more to ensure that running costs are not prohibitive. One often overlooked feature is can the device print edge to edge? - this will then give the impression of professionally lithoprinted sheets. NO laser printer will allow this - despite what many salesmen will tell you! So if this is your priority then inkjet cartridge printer is the way to go.

A work-around to this, if inkjet printing is too expensive, is to trim the edges with a guillotine, or better still, use 'oversize' paper and then cut it back down to A4. If high quality photos or graphics are your requirements then either a quality inkjet cartridge device like the HP Photosmart or alternatively, a graphics quality laser printer like the Xerox Phaser. On the subject of print quality, this is such a personal thing, I have seen both extremes - very good and very poor-and would really recommend getting print samples, preferably with pages of your own work, before buying-certainly if you need high quality! Be careful if you are buying from an office supplies or computer 'superstore', they sometimes have sole distribution for a certain model making it very hard to buy the toner or inks from anywhere else!

Finally, with regard to the 'Green' issue, inket are much more friendly than laser printers, as they do not have all the bulky cartridges. However, the most planet friendly machine has to be the Xerox Phaser 8560, this uses a 'solid ink' process and produces hardly any waste at all.

Fuss3 Solutions Ltd have been providing manufactures Original toner cartridges and fully guaranteed compatible toner cartridges for over 10 years. Having work closely with one compatible manufacture for over 5 years. With after sales service being the key to their growth.

Inkjet Photo Printer

When you are in a place where you like the idea of printing your own photos at home, you are going to need to look into purchasing an inkjet photo printer. An inkjet photo printer will allow you to produce high quality prints that will faithfully reproduce every pixel of the images that you have captured with your digital camera. When you are looking to purchase the right printer for your purposes, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. Remember that there is no perfect printer, just the perfect one for your purposes!

In the first place, you need to look into what you want out of the photos that you are going to produce. For instance, do you want to print pictures that are larger than 8x10, which is the standard size that most printers will handle? Do you want to create archival quality prints or are you interested in printing on heavyweight paper or on specialty materials like canvas? How fast do you need your printer to produce images, and how much money do you want to invest in the printer and in the materials necessary to create the prints that you want? These are all important questions to ask yourself.

When you are looking around at the different inkjet printers out there, you will find that they can range between 100 dollars to 700 dollars in price. If you want a printer that will print larger than letter size, you will be looking at a price that starts around 400 dollars. On the other hand, if you are happy with printing in standard letter sizes or smaller, you will be able to get a printer for significantly less money. If you want a fast printer, a quiet printer, you are going to be looking at one that costs you more with every feature that you ad.

While buying an inkjet photo printer, you will find that you have the choice of choosing printers that use six inks or printers that use four inks. Four ink printers use less ink than six ink printers and require less replacement, but a six ink printer will give you more faithful image reproduction in light areas and in flesh tones. If you are going to be using the printer to print things that are not photos, like text documents, you should simply go with the four ink printers to save yourself on long term ink costs. On the other hand, if you are going to be using this printer exclusively for photo printing, the investment in a six ink printer can be well worth the increase in quality.

Take advantage of store displays of sample prints. This can tell you a lot about what printer you want to purchase. Do keep in mind that every picture has been chosen to show off the very best that that printer has to offer. Remember that the pictures were likely taken by professionals and that reproducing pictures like that on your digital camera may be difficult if not impossible. However, those samples can still give you a good idea of the performance you can expect.

Control Robots

There are many ways to control robots. This article will discuss the most popular method currently used in the world, the 'Arduino'. What the 'Arduino' is actually very simple. It is simply a physical computing platform for performing useful tasks, when interfaced (connected) to a computer. 'Arduino' is an open source project, which means capable people in the robotics field can contribute and further improve the 'Arduino'.

Benefits of using the 'Arduino' environment is that it is very user friendly. Anyone with zero level of electronics and programming skills can now learn to program robots. By the way, when it is mentioned that programming robots, this means that writing certain amount of codes to the 'microcontroller' of the robot. Note that the 'microcontroller' acts like the brain for the robot.

Basically, when someone uses 'Arduino' to control robots, that means he or she is using the software called 'Arduino IDE', in which 'IDE' means Integrated Development Environment. This program has been developed extensively and is free of charge. In other words, it is a freeware. To write codes, one will learn the 'Arduino' programming language. Actually, it is largely based on the already well known 'C++ programming language'. If you have programming skills or experience in the past, programming robots using 'Arduino' is a breeze for you.

'Arduino' is so famous, until it is widely manufactured and sometimes fabricated in multiple versions by third party manufacturers. They have gained wide spread popularity through out the years since the last five years. I think the 'Arduino' is definitely a growing gem in the eyes of the world today. Check it out and see it for yourself, if you really are a robotics fan.

Birthday Copiers

"Let's wish a "Happy Birthday" to the copier and send it off to a nice retirement."

Did you know that the photocopier, the original Xerox, turns 50 years old this year? Neither did I (maybe because it's older than me). Reading a recent CNN article reminded me of the smell of mimeograph copies we received in elementary school, and being blinded by the flash bulb copiers in my college libraries, and warming up my hands on fresh hot copies from the Xerox machine on my first corporate job. Oh, and I'm sure many of you are familiar with the frustrations of instantly becoming a copier mechanic when the machines broke down.

All great things come to an end... and it's time for the photocopier machine (not the companies that produce them) to go the way of the dinosaurs. The hulking masses of metal, plastic, glass, wire, miles of precious metal circuitry and needless waste of paper and toner ink can all just disappear and this Efficient CEO won't be sad. Not for a minute. The joke in my company is, "Rich printed a document?!? Are you serious???". Why print when you can read a screen. Why duplicate when you can share electronically. Why handle paper when you can do it all online.

Let's wish a "Happy Birthday" to the copier and send it off to a nice retirement. Thank you Xerox for the many wonderful innovations you've helped design, build and bring to market. Our civilization honestly couldn't have progressed without you! It is great to see that Xerox and their many competitors are now doing more to eliminate paper through automation and they too realize the value of retiring their earliest invention.

Personal Touch

Remember when the camera needed film to work? You had to take the picture, get it developed and hope you got the shot right the first time? Of if you wanted to get immediate results you had to have your own darkroom and photo equipment in order to get your own prints or edit your photos? Well along came the invention of digital cameras, making it easy for any one of us who owns our own computer to upload, edit and then print our pictures right in our own home, immediately. The HP photo printer is among the more reliable, affordable and rugged of them all today on the market for home usage. It's tiny array of nozzles give your printer the precise amount of ink needed to print quality photos. Using photo paper results in high quality resolution photos. So if you like to share your photos with hardcopies instead of just though email? You can select any of HP's photo printer models available today and save yourself money and time.

What is the Expense?

When they were first introduced on the market they were a bit pricey and only a few could afford them if you were not a professional business owner. But with most electronics they have improved them over the past years and the manufacturers are now able to sell them at a more affordable price and sell more units. They are also being made more compact and user friendly and compatible with more operating systems and computers. The industries biggest challenge in making these printers was to make them easier to operate and print higher quality photos. And HP photo printers have done just that; provide you with high performing quality printers at a lower price.

Finding a HP photo printer to meet your needs is easy, there are models to suit many different photo printing requirements. They have compact dock printers which are used to directly plug your camera into them and you actually print your 4 by 6 inch photos from this without the use of your computer. If you like to edit and add to your photos you would want to consider one of the larger models that allow for computer usage and also print larger sized photos as well.

Your true photo printer cost is not going to end up being your initial price, but it will end up being in the price you pay for the maintenance and supplies needed to keep up with the printer operations. The HP photo printer has the option of different settings to allow for saving ink when using their economy mode. And it will still deliver a good print. But if you want a professional quality print you will have to use the higher resolution mode. When you're shopping for your photo printer it is wise to take into consideration the cost of the supplies before making the initial purchase. In order to help you decide on what printer you wish to purchase you should compare the prices of the ink cartridges and also if the model requires a special paper for printing. Some of the printers will not take general photo papers and will require you to purchase a more pricey customer paper for their printer loading tray.

Competition is Always There

Like most things on the market today, HP brand is not the only photo printer out there. There are others that make the product as well, like Canon, Epsom, Kodak, all being HP's bigger competitors. HP products biggest selling feature is the they are not only for use with one specific camera. They are made to be flexible and compatible to print your photos that you load into it in many digital formats. HP has a great reputation and had a good edge on the market, they produce high quality merchandise and have good customer quality and the most competitive price. Selecting one of HP's photo printers will help you keep your memories alive in a perfect picture moment.

Laser Photo Printer

The toner cartridges are identical in size, and the dimensions can be compared to that of a videotape. Toner cartridges are inserted from the front side of the printer, and thanks to the fool-proof design you cannot put the wrong color in the wrong slot.

The CLP-500 has USB and LPT ports located on a noticeable place. Above them is the plug for optional LAN interface, still higher is the reserved spot for Wi-Fi interface. On the control board, there is a slot for an optional DIMM-memory extension module.

It's quite unusual to discover a duplex unit in the package box of a color printer of this price range. However, it's worth mentioning that this printer feature a rather high speed in double-sided documents output.

The Samsung engineers have taken care of detailed and intuitive control panel to manage the printer. In most cases it does save time on control and management operations.

Every time it's getting ever harder to comment on text printing quality of modern printers. The reason is there nothing left to achieve: even a 4x zoom of a page printed in most used mode - the 600 dpi - leaves no doubt the quality is perfect.

The quality difference in 1200 dpi is obvious, but you can hardly call it critical. When printing texts, the 600 dpi resolution mode is just enough.

This is a color laser printer, and it, theoretically, can produce photographs, too. Nonetheless, don't expect of CLP-500 what you would expect of an inkjet photo printer, those would be the printers for different purposes. However, the Samsung CLP-500 is likely the first color laser printer to produce what can conditionally be called a color photo on matte paper.

Another thing this model deserves mentioning is an uncommon consistency of toner coverage of media. For instance, there are no glossy reflexes in places where black toner is heavily applied.

Interestingly, when office paper is used, the toner is imprinted into medium in such a way, that the coarse relief of the paper (compared to other special media) becomes only a plus. Perhaps, it is a matter of those fine particles of toner. Anyways, the quality of toner fixing deserves all credit.

Anti Glare Screen

Especially for people who spend a lot of time in front of CRT monitor, the risk of eyestrain will be higher. The curving screen of this monitor type tends to hurt the eyes of the computer users more than The LCD monitor does. As the solution, adding anti glare screen in your monitor will be quite helpful to reduce the risk of eyestrain. There are a lot of products offered in the market nowadays, so you can always have a lot of preferences. Here are some tips to choose the best anti glare screen for your computer monitor.

There are some useful features that you should be presented in your anti glare monitor. Anti reflective coating is the first consideration. Make sure that the filter of your screen reduces the glare for at least 95 percent. Then, you should also check the anti static feature. Choose a product with less static and less dust in order to get the better legibility of text on your screen.

Furthermore, your anti glare should be easy to clean as well. Usually, the most difficult dirt to be removed is fingerprints. In order to easier the cleaning process, it will be better to choose a product that simply needs water and soft cloth for cleaning. Then, the next consideration will be the material. You can find some types of material used for anti glare screen, such as plastic, micromesh, or optical glass. Those materials have their own advantages, but choosing optical glass instead of the other two materials will be recommended.

Then, you should also check the transmission to make it appropriate wit your computer monitor. Monitor with great amount of glare need should be completed with low level transmission. Meanwhile, anti glare with high level of transmission will be appropriate for monitor with low amount of ambient light. If you want to have more privacy, you can also choose a product with the privacy feature. With this feature, a person should sit directly in front of the monitor to read or see what is on the monitor screen. So, other people in your side could not peep at your documents.

By considering those features, you can get the best anti glare screen for your computer monitor. So, you will work in more convenience with your computer in less risk of eyestrain.

Google Cloud

The Future Of Printing?

Put your hand up if you actively seek printing news? None of you? How about Google news? A few? Well let me quickly enlighten you. Google believe the future of computing and data storage is NOT on your computer, phone or little memory sticks. Instead, imagine a "cloud" database, a series of always-on information servers used to store everything an individual needs. Meaning you can access your files no matter where you are.

A grandiose idea..... but how is it relevant to printing?

Google Cloud Print

Cloud-friendly or "aware" printers, tied in to the Google database and accessible from any machine on the planet. No more drivers/installations/compatibility issues. The ability to print to any machine, from any computer. Beautiful.

Imagine....

You've purchased a new printer, try to use it and are met with....

Error: Printer Driver not installed

Updates, fuss, an issue for each computer trying to use the printer. Any way you look at it, it is an annoying fuss.

Google Clouds Solution

What if the printer driver is not required on your computer. But stored in Google cloud? Now what if it was ALL drivers? ALL cloud-aware printers? Now you simply send a print request, select the desired target printer, and voila - job done. No potential for driver errors, simple, hassle free printing.

Security Issues?

I doubt Google will globalise access to any printer and enable the freedom to print without permission, but it will be interesting to see how they get around this concern.

In my mind it will be a double-barrelled process. Firstly, you will need a password and/or profile on the printer you are trying to send a request to. Secondly, the owner of the printer will need to confirm permission, so they get a list of all individuals trying to connect to the printer and need to filter out the inevitable spammers.

What are the benefits?

In addition to the aforementioned printer driver hassle and the return to plug-and-print machines, how else can it help? My initial thoughts turn to:

· Waiting for a fax at the end of work hours, simply forward print requests to your home printer

· Unsure of your document layout before printing? Grant file access to colleagues in the Cloud and they can all edit the base file and print their own copies.

· Office printer servers become the epitome of simplicity. No more multiple installations across a network and undue fuss.

Is it actually helpful?

One interesting point I came across was

'How is this different to just emailing the file to someone at that location to print?"

I feel this misses the point of cloud printing, and to a larger extent Google Cloud itself. It is about bringing everything and everyone together, free access to data and computer functionality like never before. In regards to this specific comment, emailing would require the upload of the file to send, the downloading of the file to receive. Then a continuing back and forth until the final file is acceptable for both. With Google Cloud:

· The initial file is already saved in the cloud as it was created in Google docs - thus no upload and download time

· Changes made to the file? Anyone involved can make them and post updated versions for all to see

It is the simplifying of everything, the perfection of accessibility. What the internet is meant to be about!

In Conclusion

I think the initial wall Google will hit in the public eye is:

Why not just get a modern universal protocol for printing that all manufacturers can implement, the standardisation of formatting meaning no need for drivers? If we can't already get that, how does Google Cloud have a chance? Why aim for small jumps instead of 1 giant leap?

What about those not connected to the internet? I would assume USB printing is still available No internet means you are already isolated, you would be missing out on a perk not on a necessity.

Where do I go if I send a personal file to the wrong printer? Are my details safe? I am as eager as you to see the safeguards in Cloud.

But I think those nay-sayers should wait and see. When Google do something, they usually do it right, so I wait in anticipation for a potentially ground breaking move in the market, and suggest that the only question you should all be asking is:

When?

Mouse Pad

Mouse pads can be made of a wide variety of materials, depending on the amount of money that you spend, and the ergonomics that you are after. Most pads are made of a rubbery foam material, known as neoprene. Some are made of plastic, which is filled with a sort of gel to provide support for your wrist. A lot of these just have a small tube like piece of jell which sits up for where your wrist would touch the desk. These pads are designed to be comfortable when you rest your hands on, and having a little bit of give through the neoprene is great.

You can get mouse pads that are custom made, with your own photos or photos of your choice. Alternatively, you can get ones with the calendar on them for the current year. Sure, you have to replace these every year but they are very handy to use. A lot of people make their own mouse pads, or buy them online. You can get mouse pads that are made out of glass, which look spectacular when you put little LED's in them. Of course, this can be a lot of work, but it does look very awesome.

I know a few people that have gone and bought cheap non stick frying pans, and cut out a circle in the middle of the pan. This is completely flat, very hard and long lasting and if you smooth the edges they make great pads. Of course, some mouse's don't work very well on the shiny black material, but you can test this out before you buy the pan. I would suggest that you get a pad which is comfortable to use; there is nothing worse than being uncomfortable, especially if you are on a PC for hours at a time.
